Snub to Mumbai top cop? Bharti now special CP

The Shinde-Fadnavis government on Wednesday appointed senior IPS officer Deven Bharti as special commissioner of Mumbai Police. In the corridors of power, it is being viewed as an unprecedented move to accommodate the 1994-batch officer, who was sidelined when the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) was in government.
