Senior couple stabbed to death in Thane, gold untouched

A 78-year-old man and his wife (70) were stabbed to death by unidentified people in their home in Ganeshpuri town of Thane on Saturday. Police suspect personal rivalry to be the reason behind the killings as no valuables were missing. Police also found the TV switched on, indicating that it was a deliberate act to prevent neighbours from hearing their screams. The murder came to light when the couple's maid came to work in the morning.
