Chief fire officer axed for ‘hiding’ service info

The BMC commissioner has relieved chief fire officer Shashikant Kale of his post for allegedly misleading authorities in order to get a meritorious service award from the President of India. He has been replaced by fire officer Kailash Hivrale as the interim chief fire officer. An inquiry has been ordered against Kale under a deputy municipal commissioner for misleading the authorities.
